ALLEGORY OF PLEASURE.

From Psyche series.

Watercolor on paper

22x32 cm.

The Psyche Series is a series of works that explore human psychology from a plastic-allegorical point of view. Pleasure is a positive emotion of the human psyche, which can be caused by multiple factors, varying from individual to individual. Pleasure is related to the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, which is involved in the brain's reward circuits. This chemical process causes us to experience pleasant sensations. Expectations and perceptions play a crucial role in the experience of pleasure, so the variation from one subject to another can be significant.

The allegorical key is one of the most primitive and traditional forms of representation of concepts in painting. Through characters and scenes, symbols and visual elements, abstract ideas, philosophical, moral or political concepts are represented in a metaphorical way. It is for this reason that I have decided to approach this series of works on different states of the human psyche in this same key, since it provides valid visual resources for the viewer's interpretation of what the artist wants to convey, and which forms part of the meta message of the work.
