From the Laudato Si' Series.

The Laudato Si' series is a series of works related to the legacy of Pope Francis. In this work, I have addressed the concept of a formidable machine. It is a machine capable of measuring the pulse of the earth, everything related to climatic events or related to nature. In this way, this machine can predict rain or sunny days, cold or warm days, it can measure the time of harvests and also the time of sowing. It can also predict an earthquake, detect winds, tides, and the direction of ocean waves. It is a machine that can predict animal behavior and measure plant growth. In short, it's a machine that connects us to the earth in an intimate way, in the same way that a local expert knows what day it's going to rain because he feels it, because he has a special connection with the earth that comes from experience, intuition, and the senses. This machine isn't a scientific instrument; it's an artifact of feeling, a complete connection between humankind and the cosmos. For that reason, it's not a machine destined for world domination but for its knowledge, not for modifying it but for respecting it. I always wanted a machine like this, a machine driven by feeling and not a cold scientific instrument that ruthlessly modifies the fruits the earth has to offer us. In the Pope's own rhetoric, this mechanism is an invention to respect the world, not to destroy it. This work is the blueprint for its construction, which I leave in an artistic form. It's simply a matter of assembling all those parts to get it working. It's an aesthetic approach to a solution, which lies in seeing the world revealed to us and not trying to reveal everything on our own.
