Hello
“Paint your village and you will paint the world”. - Leo Tolstoy.
My name is Miguel Ángel Paolin, I am a visual artist who graduated in Visual Arts at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires (UNA). I live on the outskirts of the city of Buenos Aires, in the Buenos Aires suburbs. My works are part of my personal experiences and the feelings and lives of those around me.
My personal history
I was born in 1974 in Lomas de Zamora, near the city of Buenos Aires. My family was always a working family. My father was an immigrant who arrived when he was very young with my grandfather and his family from Italy. My mother is a housewife and she always dedicated her life to our care, which is a really difficult and arduous task, which she always fulfilled with the greatest responsibility and love. And so it was that I lived my childhood and youth in my city, surrounded by those who were soon my friends and who I still have. I studied a Bachelor's degree in Systems Analysis at the UBA, and then I decided to enter Fine Arts, to be able to achieve a dream: that of being a painter. I completed the degree entirely by working and traveling many kilometers, which lasted many years, but always with passion and enthusiasm intact. After my graduation I started working on my own work, which is a deep introspection into my life and the environment that surrounds me. I carried out work in the academic field, and my objective is to update some canons of the great Western pictorial tradition, in order to express my own history and that of my people.
